Diagnostic ultrasound is a medical imaging technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of structures inside the body. It has become the gold standard imaging modality for diagnosing common joint & tendon pain conditions due to it's high resolution images & ability to dynamically assess bone and soft tissue structures. Diagnostic ultrasound is able to examine subtle areas of inflammation, tendon, ligament, and joint capsule tears as well as areas of degeneration to these tissues. It is non-invasive, does not use ionizing radiation (like X-rays), safe and painless.

An ultrasound-guided cortisone injection is a minimally invasive procedure that uses ultrasound imaging to guide a corticosteroid injection into a specific area of the body. The injection can help reduce pain and inflammation in conditions such as tendonitis, bursitis, joint inflammation and nerve impingements

Dr Andrea Barabas DC, MChiro

Andrea graduated with a First-Class Master’s degree in Chiropractic from London South Bank University, following a successful career as a Personal Trainer, Pilates Instructor, and Fitness Professional. She enjoys working with people from all walks of life, using evidence-based techniques tailored to each client’s needs. These include spinal and extremity adjustments, joint mobilisations, and soft tissue release. In addition, Andrea has specialist training in Dry Needling, the management of vertigo (BPPV), vestibular rehabilitation, jaw (TMJ) disorders, and the function of the inner core unit as a fundamental system. Her approach to care is holistic: she considers lifestyle factors such as exercise, stress, work-life balance, and overall habits, all of which play a key role in the body’s healing and response to treatment. Chris Pruvey

Chris qualified with a BSc hons Physiotherapy from the University of the West of England, Bristol in 2003 & gained experience in musculoskeletal, pain management, rheumatology and orthopaedic hospital departments within the NHS and central London teaching hospitals. Chris completed his Masters in Sports & Exercise Medicine from Queen Mary’s University of London in 2009 & have been performing diagnostic imaging and musculoskeletal injections since.

Chris specialises in musculoskeletal ultrasound diagnostic scans and various types of ultrasound guided injections after an initial screening or consultation. He offers a One-Stop service encompassing an expert musculoskeletal physical examination and a diagnostic scan & if indicated, an ultrasound guided musculoskeletal injection in one appointment.
